Airless spray painting uses material pressure without compressed air. An electric, pneumatic pump, or petrol engine pressurizes the material and forces it through a tip bore at up to 250 bar pressure, transforming the material into a fine spray.

A pump pressurizes paint material up to 250 bar, forcing it through an airless spray gun. When the valve opens, paint exits through a precisely sized tip, creating atomization through pressure difference with the atmosphere. The tip determines flow rate and spray pattern width.
